Wearing and Use of Decorations
The wearing and use of national decorations of the Republic of the Congo are subject to strict rules designed to preserve the dignity and symbolic value of honorific distinctions.
Decorations may only be worn by persons who have been duly decorated, after registration of their certificate with the Grande Chancellerie des Ordres Nationaux. The wearing of insignia is authorized only under the conditions provided for by regulatory texts and during appropriate ceremonies or official events.
The Grande Chancellerie ensures compliance with the rules relating to the wearing of national decorations and the use of foreign distinctions on the territory of the Republic of the Congo.
Any non-compliant use of decorations is subject to sanctions provided for by the texts in force, in order to guarantee respect for the national honorific order.
