Award Conditions

The attribution of national decorations of the Republic of the Congo is strictly governed by the legal texts in force. It is based on precise criteria aimed at guaranteeing equity, transparency and the symbolic value of honorific distinctions.

Decorations may be awarded on a normal, exceptional or posthumous basis, depending on the nature of the services rendered and the provisions specific to each order or distinction. Proposals are formulated by the authorized authorities and submitted to the examination of the Grande Chancellerie des Ordres Nationaux.

After examination of the files and opinion of the Council of National Orders, the award decisions are taken by the President of the Republic, Grand Master of the National Orders, by decree.

The Grande Chancellerie ensures compliance with procedures and the conformity of awards with the principles and values of the Republic.
