Heritage

The Grand Chancellery of National Orders contributes to the preservation of the honorary and symbolic heritage of the Republic of the Congo. This heritage includes all material and immaterial elements related to national decorations, honorary distinctions and State symbols.

It includes in particular the insignia of national orders, official documents, decoration patents as well as administrative and honorary archives accumulated over time. These elements bear witness to the institutional history of the Republic and the recognition granted by the State for services rendered to the Nation.

The honorary heritage participates in the construction and transmission of national memory. It reflects the republican values, civic engagement and sense of merit that the Republic of the Congo intends to promote.

Conservation and Enhancement

As part of its missions, the Grand Chancellery ensures the conservation and protection of elements falling within its honorary heritage. This action is part of an institutional safeguarding approach and transmission of the symbols of the Republic.

The enhancement of this heritage can be exercised through conservation, archiving and, where appropriate, public presentation systems, in compliance with administrative rules and State traditions.
